John Gillette & Sarah Mittlefehldt with Under This Cold Sky

Yooptone Music’s free monthly concert series continues with the talented duo of John Gillette & Sarah Mittlefehlt with Under This Cold Sky.

John & Sarah are grounded in the old field of grassroots music and nourished by the sounds of the 21st century, and they’ve been delighting audiences in the Marquette area (including Main Stage at Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival) since moving to our neighborhood a few years back.

What began as the songwriting project of Steve Hooper, Under This Cold Sky is a tribute to both the land and the culture of the U.P. Combining traditional and modern folk musical styles along with lyric-intensive songwriting and storytelling, Under This Cold Sky is a songwriter for the Upper Peninsula.
